The Palisade Historical Society’s September History Talk will be a celebration of the Palisade History Museum’s 5th Birthday! The official ribbon cutting ceremony was held August 18, 2021.
The History Talk will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at the Palisade Community Gym (711 Iowa Ave). This program is open to the public, and reservations are not required.
The History Talk presentation will include interesting photos and background information about the building’s transformation – initially from George Bunte, Jr’s shop for his freight hauling and peach packing shed, into the Museum we have today. You will also get a virtual tour and information about the building’s current displays and artifacts which, since its official opening in 2021, almost 3,000 people have come to the Palisade History Museum and learned about Palisade’s unique agriculture and coal mining history.
Attendees are welcome to bring food and beverages to enjoy during the History Talk. It is FREE admission, and donations are appreciated.
The Palisade Historical Society will be serving a 5th Birthday cake from Palisade’s Slice o’ Life Bakery, so come early to get a slice and a seat!
Please note: With the Elberta Roundabout Construction Project affecting US Hwy 6 and Iowa Street, it may be necessary to use an alternate route from 5th Street & Peach Street to 7th Street.
